Type UV2002 Pad Printing Ink

INSTRUCTIONS:

NOTE: Read Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) Prior To Use

Pad Printing Ink TYPE UV2002 is an Ultra Violet curable ink.  Normally, after proper exposure to UV light, immediate testing can be performed.  When fully cured, it provides outstanding resistance to:  Abrasion / Oil & Grease / Alcohols / Organic Solvents / Chemicals / Perspiration / Diluted Acids / Salt / Diluted Alkalis / Hand Creme / Water / Impact / Weather / Mechanical wear.  (See backside of sheet for recommended substrates)

Ink TYPE UV2002 is supplied in paste form. This ink is recommended for open ink well and sealed cup pad printers.

PAD PRINTING:
Recommended cliché depth for pad printing is 20 to 26 microns, depending on type of cliché.  The ink can be applied single or double hit.  If a double hit is required, testing for a complete cure is advised for each color.  E50 Clear may be added to aid in curing for double hit applications.
Under normal conditions, the ink should be adjusted with thinner. The ink is UV light reactive.  Avoid long term direct exposure to light when using.  Yellow Plexiglas machine guarding is advised.  Recommended room temperature 70-78 degrees F.  Recommended room humidity 30-50 %

ADDITIVES

PAD PRINTING

Thinner:

THINNER C 10 to 15% by weight For Most Applications
THINNER B  10 to 15% by weight Slower Evaporating Than “C”

Retarder:

  • Type TPD 1 to 3% by weight

DRYING & CURING

Ink TYPE UV2002 remains tacky until curing takes place.

PREHEAT: (Optional)
Ink performance may be increased with IR treatment immediately before UV light curing, typically 140 - 170  Degrees F for at least 35 seconds.

UV LIGHT CURING:
Ink TYPE UV2002 only cures under UV radiation of suitable wavelength and intensity.  Curing parameters depend on layer thickness, and substrate.

UV EXPOSURE: Expose to a medium pressure, Mercury vapor type lamp operating at a minimum of 200W per inch imput power.  Curing energy should be between 1000 and 2000 mJ/cm².  After curing, the ink is dry to the touch that can be handled aggressively without damage.  Maximum chemical and abrasion resistance will be seen after a period of 24 hours
