SK Pad Printing Ink
Instructions:
For rubber, leather, imitation leather, polyamide and polyurethane, elastomers (TPE, Santoprene), soft-touch coatings.
PROPERTIES
SK ink is quick drying and semi-glossy. The ink film is elastic and largely follows the contours of the substrate. Compared to ink type PH, printability of pad printing inks SK has been improved considerably with regard to cobwebs (splashing). Moreover, on several substrates a better adhesion is now possible. Thus SK ink can be printed on a broader substrate range. SK inks show medium opacity.
COLOR SHADES
The color shades of the SK ink range show heavy metal free pigmentation and correspond to EN 71, part 3, safety of toys, migration of certain elements, TSCA, RoHS, and California Proposition 65.

ADJUSTMENT FOR PAD PRINTING
Pad printing inks SK are adjusted to printing consistency with approx. 15-30% VD Thinner. Use TPD for retardation. If higher mechanical resistance or increased adhesion is required, SK inks can also be processed as a 2-component ink. The mixing ratio SK Ink: BH Hardener is approx. 10:1 (parts by weight). Pot life of the mixed ink is approx. 8 hours.
DRYING AND CURING
Ink SK dries to the touch within 1 - 2 minutes at room temperature. Drying time may be reduced with forced hot air at 200 – 400 degrees F. Normally, full cure is achieved after two to three days depending on curing temperature, time, and humidity. Heat curing may increase adhesion and performance results. Mechanical and chemical resistances are not achieved until the ink is fully cured.
CLEANING
For cleaning of stencils and tools our standard thinners or Dibasic Ester can be used.
PACKING
SK inks are available in 1 liter cans (approx. 1.06 qts.) only.
SHELF LIFE
For information regarding shelf life please see tin label.
MARKING
Read material safety data sheets prior to processing.
