Red Star Ink Cups: Features Patented Liner-Plus-Doctor-Ring System

AN innovative twist on an industry standard design has produced a revolutionary method for containing ink in a closed cup for pad printing machines. Trans Tech's RedStar™ MultiCup system, comprised of an anodized aluminum body, which uses the plastic ExpressLiner™ ink container, and easily replaceable carbide metal doctoring rings. Also available: SpaceFrame™ system which also uses ExpressLiner.

The resulting cup configuration (patent pending) features pad printing with a smaller ink reservoir thereby saving material costs as well as reducing set-up and clean-up times by using disposable cup liners. The carbide metal doctor ring fits snugly into a recessed groove of the ink cup liner, allowing it to "float" and form a single, integrated unit. The simplicity and convenience will be appreciated by pad printing operators with short production runs and frequent artwork changes.

NOTE: Patent pending ExpressLiners are useable with mechanical or magnetic hold-down SpaceFrames as well as mechanical hold-down RedStar ink cups. SpaceFrames and RedStar ink cups are available for most Tampo Print equipment. Ask your consumables rep for details.

The mechanical hold-down RedStar MultiCup is available in 60, 90, and 130mm inside diameters and is distinguished by its ruby-red anodized finish. The translucent polypropylene ExpressLiners and carbide doctor-rings in matching sizes are economical and easy to insert or remove. An additional benefit will be gained with the reduced replacement cost of the carbide doctor ring as a separate unit versus replacing the entire cup-ring assembly. RedStar MultiCups are compatible with standard ITW Trans Tech pad printing machines, cliché plates and inks.

The key feature of the ExpressLiner is its polypropylene substrate. With its molded plastic groove it holds the carbide ring securely but with enough flexibility to allow proper ink doctoring of the cliché. When the production run is complete, the ring can be easily removed for cleaning and the liner discarded.

ExpressLiners are availabe for 60, 90, and 130mm RedStar MultiCups with mechanical hold-down; NOTE: not availabe for magnetic ink cups (ask your rep for details).

NOTE: ExpressLiners are ONLY useable in Trans Tech RedStar MultiCups. At present, Express Liners are available on mechanical hold-down RedStar cups ONLY. They will NOT work with magnetic hold-down RedStar cups. However, they may be used on either mechanical or magnetic hold-down SpaceFrames (see details in complete charts below).
