MECHANICAL ENGINEER-

As part of ITW's family of companies (700+) we offer an exciting opportunity for a skilled individual with a background in Mechanical Engineering to fill the position of Mechanical Engineer- Project Manager.
BASIC PURPOSE AND FUNCTION:
Design mechanical systems and provide solutions for automated machinery projects ensuring that the most appropriate, economical and feasible methods are utilized for each project while providing complete project management from development of basic concepts to fully installed production equipment at customer site.
REQUIREMENTS:
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Conceptualize, design and detail complex, multi-station automated machinery, machinery components and machinery modifications to both company and customer specifications utilizing CAD as main design tool. Create quality specifications for engineered products.
2. Provide project coordination with Controls Engineer to review electronic requirements of the system and/or any customer specified components and evaluate/integrate designs.
3. Meet project budget, including material & labor costs, schedule milestones and deadlines.
4. Apply broad knowledge of technical principles, procedures and practices to define product concept, design layouts, bills of material, detail drawings and performance evaluation criteria including reliability. Ensure safety concepts are integrated into design.
5. Participate in project kick-off and lead design review meetings with customer as required.
6. Outline and document machine sequence of operations by flowcharting format.
7. Specify and/or recommend components and suppliers where engineered content is involved.
8. Provide (as required) pre-sales support to Applications or Sales with technical information, time & cost estimates, etc. to create accurate quotes on machinery and systems.
9. Monitor and regularly report to manager on schedule throughout project by reviewing design status, part procurement, assembly/debug status, etc.
10. Test, troubleshoot, and debug designs, lead pilot runs and customer acceptance trials.
11. Conduct design reviews with manager (and customer as required) including technical design aspects, status, costs and potential progress impacts. Coordinate information flow to/from customer including drawings, specifications, parts, product samples, etc.
12. Review completed project with manager to discuss labor, material and schedule actual vs. budget. Recommend process & system improvements.
13. Determine and enforce standardized performance specifications for all new products.
14. Measure all variances of new products, identify problem situations and handle all trouble areas involved in production.
15. Travel as required to troubleshoot issues at customer sites and provide post-sales support.
16. Participate in writing and/or create documentation packages for use by manufacturing, assembly and service.
17. Other duties as assigned.
JOB RELATIONSHIPS:
Works closely with Sales, Engineers, Designers, Customers, Builders, Process Technicians, Internal Departments, Vendors and Suppliers.
AUTHORITY LIMITS:
Secures approval for expenditures per Expenditure Approval policy.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Frequently required to communicate by email, telephone and in person. Spends majority of time sitting; regularly required to stand and walk. May be required to occasionally lift up to 30 lbs. Occasionally may be required to use hand tools and basic test equipment. May be required to travel overnight.
MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Frequently to continuously required to analyze, communicate verbally and in writing, coordinate, detect, edit, estimate, inspect, interpret, interview, observe, organize, perform short-range planning, prioritize, read, remember long-term information, speak and use good judgment for decision making. Occasionally required to advise, compare, compile, copy, debate, diagnose, influence others, instruct, persuade and sell a concept.
BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS:
BS degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar technical discipline) or equivalent experience, with a minimum of five (5) to seven (7) progressive years related job experience in mechanical engineering design from concept through production of automated machinery systems. Additional three (3) to five (5) years of proven project management experience meeting or exceeding material and time estimates while leading a team of at least three members. A working knowledge of electrical systems and design integration with HMI’s, PLC’s and electrical schematics desired. Several years experience and proficiency with MS Office (including Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint) and 2 & 3D engineering software (AutoCAD preferred).

FIELD PROCESS TECHNICIAN

As part of ITW's family of companies (700+) we offer an exciting opportunity for a skilled individual with a background in Field Service to fill the position of Field Process Technician. This position reports to the Eastern Region Sales Manager and is based out of our satellite sales office in Mechanicsburg, PA.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
• Install, set-up, and train customers on new pad printers at their facility. Perform test samples to verify the print process. Train operators and manufacturing engineers on basic pad printing including mixing inks, plate and pad preparation, machine set-ups and mounting of consumables and tooling.
• Solve customer’s technical pad printing process issues on-site and by phone for pad printers and consumable products.
• Provide support to the following customers: key accounts, the top 20% of non-key accounts, new accounts, and new competitor accounts.
• Travel regularly to customer sites to provide support including troubleshooting existing applications, installing new consumables, training new operators or manufacturing engineers, retraining operators on new consumables, etc. Training includes proper set-up, sequences, changes in inks and substrates, and pad printer operation on existing machines or new installations, etc.
• Work with sales team to target key machine (and former) customers and consumable prospects for additional sales as determined by company objectives.
• Perform sample printing for new applications including new pads and inks to ensure quality transfers. Produce and maintain documentation of sample prints.
• Use customer service and communication skills regularly to solve customer problems, assist sales, and make customers aware of all TTA products.
• Attend regular training sessions regarding pad printing to improve knowledge and skills
• Other responsibilities as assigned by manager.
This position includes company car, reimbursed travel expenses, complete health and retirement benefit package, cellular telephone and laptop computer.
Requirements
Physical Requirements:
Required to travel overnight (drive valid drivers license - and fly) on a regular basis, up to 50% overnight (Eastern Region) as well as locally. Required to sit at computer work stations for long periods of time, and communicate by telephone and in person. Also required to operate equipment, install supplies, stand, walk, kneel, lift and carry items up to 50 lbs., bend and climb while performing duties.
Mental Requirements:
This position requires the ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form. Frequently required to analyze, evaluate, and organize printing process information. Regularly required to plan, prioritize, persuade and coordinate duties and projects.
Background Requirements:
• Must have minimum 5 years field service experience preferably with a background or familiarity with the pad printing process. Previous customer training experience will be positively considered.
• Minimum H.S. diploma or GED. Prefer Assoc. degree in Printing Technology or Graphic Arts/Mfg. Engineering or equivalent
• PC skills to include Word, Excel, Windows, MS Outlook, MS Office.
