UPS Ground Hazardous Fee Dropped
New Rates Save Customers Money

ONE significant advantage to being an ITW Company is how, through agreements with our suppliers, we gain the ability to pass on cost savings to customers. Due to our preferred carrier-shipper status with United Parcel Service Inc. (UPS), we can now save our customers who order inks and thinners $20.ºº or more per shipment.

Haz-Mat Fees Add Up
As anyone who regularly orders inks and other related supplies knows, these items are classified as hazardous materials. Therefore they require special handling and labeling, especially if shipped by air. Both UPS and Federal Express have added expensive Haz-Mat fees to their charges in the past. The added cost could be as much as $50 per carton for an Federal Express Air shipment.

However, the $20 Haz-Mat fee, for ground shipments only, has been eliminated by ITW Trans Tech. This can be a big savings for customers who frequently order inks and solvents from us.

Savings of Twenty Bucks
For example, a customer who ordered two liters of ink and asked us to ship it via Federal Express Ground would have paid an additional $20 per carton or $10 per liter for that ink. Our new method, will save that same customer $10 per liter on those two cans of ink.

Likewise, a customer who in the past wanted to ship via Federal Express Air service would have been charged an additional $50 per carton. If he is now willing to ship via UPS Air service instead of Federal Express, he will save $20 per carton. This represents a huge savings when multiplied over months of shipments and ultimately reduces your total production cost. If your delivery needs are not so urgent as to demand an air shipment, this is the most economical route.

UPS is our preferred shipper for consumable products and we will be recommending their services to our customers whenever possible.
