Our Frequently Asked Questions:
Before You Call, Please Read This
OUR customers often call us to ask questions.
The answers depend on some key facts that we need to determine before we can give any help. During our twenty-eight years of delivering the highest quality pad printing technology to various decorating industries, we have acquired a long list of products and machines to support. So to narrow down the possible answers, we need to start with a few frequently asked questions to expedite your service.
Basic Information
First, there is some basic information we will ask you to provide in order to determine what equipment you have. Once we know exactly which machine or accessory you are inquiring about, we will expedite your request, often during the initial contact.

Hands-on training is also available by appointment, at your facility or at our Carol Stream print lab facility.
FAQs From Us
Here are the most frequently asked questions that we ask customers, so please have as much of the following information ready as possible:
1. What is the machine model?
This is normally printed on a decal applied to the machine cover or front plate.
2. What is the serial number?
This is stamped on a metal plate with a Trans Tech logo. The serial plate location varies, depending on machine type, but is commonly found on the left rear of the machine side. If the machine is an accessory or automated system, the serial number plate may be attached to the frame.
3. What is the job number?
This is used for larger printing systems and automated machines as well as some accessories. This is a four-digit number that will be stamped on a Trans Tech nameplate.
4. What is the date of manufacture?
Some machines have a separate plate with the manufacture date. If the machine is of German origin, it will show the word Baujahr followed by a number.
5. Are you the original purchaser of the equipment? If not, do you know who the original purchaser was?

Our experienced print lab technicians are familiar with our entire line of machines and auxiliary equipment.
Some Other Advice:
If possible, arrange to call from a phone near the machine. A cell phone or cordless phone is even better. We will often ask you to check for specific symptoms, messages or indications. For example, is the red LED on the drive board on? Is the master control relay energized? Is the light in the STOP button blinking?
When you are able to check the machine and answer questions like these, we can often point you to the solution immediately. If electrical troubleshooting is required, have a volt-ohm meter with a 240 VAC and 24 VDC range available to check power, fuses and interface signals.
Purchase Order?
If you suspect that parts will be required, having a purchase order number ready to issue will also speed up the process of getting your repair parts order shipped. A purchase order will also be required for us to ship warranty parts. If a warranty is applicable, we will issue an RGA (return goods authorization) number when your order is placed. After evaluating the defective parts and determining if they are covered under the equipment warranty, we will process a credit to be issued to your account.
Technical Support
The service department at ITW Trans Tech is dedicated to providing free technical support for the pad printing equipment you have purchased from us. This support is available by phone, fax, web site or e-mail. When you call the ITW Trans Tech TOLL-FREE Service phone number: 866.256.2041 (our service coordinator Diane Boggs) will then forward your call to the technician most knowledgeable about your machine.
If you are transferred directly to an extension and go into our voice mail system, just dial zero and "#" to transfer to the operator. Then ask to have a specific service technician paged.
As a general rule, the more information that you have ready before you call us, the faster will be our response to your needs. And the sooner you will be able to get back to running your operation.
